You must apply for a student visa after receiving a college admission letter. You must start with the visa process in June if you intend to take it in September. The following are the required documents to apply for a Canadian Student Visa.

1. Valid Passport

You will need a valid Passport to apply for a Student Permit. As a Canadian High Commission, it is important that you have a valid passport that includes the intended residency in Canada. For example, if you plan to travel to Canada in March 2022 for a two-year course, your passport must be valid until at least March 2024.

2. Proof of Admission to the Designated Learning Institution

You will need a letter of acceptance from the university / institution you are planning to attend. Designated Study Institution is a University recognized by the Department of Immigration. In the event that you apply to Quebec, you will also need a CAQ to be notified accordingly.

3. Proof of Finance

When you apply for your Study Permit, you will need to show financial proof. At current rates, you will have to prove that you will have enough money to pay for tuition and to cover the cost of living. Canadian Immigration sees a student who may need at least CAD 10,000 each year for your stay. Apart from the above two, the student will have to prove that he or she has enough money to make a return show.

When completing the application form, you will need to show proof of fees and living expenses i.e GIC which could be $10,000 CAD. If you are applying for Quebec you need at least CAD $11,000 for your stay.

4. Passport size photos

If you choose to apply offline, you will need two passport-size photographs that match the given standards. To apply online, you must purchase a digital copy of the image which must not exceed 4MB. 5. Steps to Student visa Canada

Canadian Immigration requires international students from India to be tested for Immigration Medical Examination from compassionate doctors. Students will need to book an appointment and visit the listed doctors for a medical examination, perhaps a week before they can start their Visa Application. This gives the doctor enough time to verify and upload the required documents. Booking an appointment in advance at the nearest facility / doctor according to a list of compassionate doctors is always advised.

The panel doctor will perform a thorough medical examination and may refer you for chest x-rays and laboratory tests. Once your test is completed, the doctor will send the results to the CIC.

6. English Language proficiency test

Although you do not have to have it at the time of application, we strongly recommend that you appear and obtain your English Language School before you start the Visa Application Process. As such, you would need to bring your English language points to confirm your admission to the Universities, Colleges and Institutions  of Canada. TOEFL, IELTS, etc. all are welcome.

7. Statement of Intent

When you apply for a Canadian Student Permit, you will need to submit an article stating the purpose of your trip to Canada and why you chose a particular institution. This will be ordered as an optional document in the checklist but we strongly recommend that you submit the same.

8. Credit Card for payment

In the event that you apply online, you will also need a credit card to pay the application fee. Canadian Visa Application Fee is CAD 160. Keep in mind that the system only accepts credit cards not debit cards. Also, it does not have to be your credit card. You can also use your parent's cards, as long as you have explicit permission to do so.

Apart from the above, if you use the Internet, you will need access to a digital scanner. However, if you are applying offline, you must have true copies of all the above-mentioned documents. It is important to note that when you apply online, you will need to download a few documents, complete them, print them, sign them, and then upload them. Ideally, scanner availability should be programmed. The program also allows you to upload a beautiful digital image. However, we recommend a camera scanner.

During a personal interview, additional documents may be requested by the interviewer. These may be documents proving academic or financial status. This may include:

  1. Transcripts, diplomas, degrees, or certificates from your schools.
  2. Scores from testing, such as TOEFL, SAT, GRE, or GMAT.
