Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Canada’s provincial nominee program offers a pathway to individuals who are interested in immigrating to a specific Canadian province. A large number of international candidates receive job offers under this program. Each province operates its own pnp designed to meet its specific economic and demographic needs. Each province has a different eligibility criteria as the program requirements and application procedures vary greatly between the provinces.

The pnp programs is for the workers who –

  1. Have the skills, education and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province
  2. Wants to live in that province and
  3. Wants to become the permanent residents of canada
  4. Under the immigration program each province targets certain groups like students, business people, skilled and semi-skilled workers.

 How to apply for PNP?

A job offer is mandatory unless your occupation appears on the national occupation classification list of in-demand jobs. If your application gets accepted you may receive a letter of nomination from the province along with 600 points added to your CRS score which will prove beneficial for getting the invitation letter.
The selection process is entirely based upon the CRS score as well as the labour market needs of the province you are trying to apply for.

How to apply under the express entry system?

The way the express entry system is designed not only considers the labor market shortages of the country but also makes the process of visa application way easier. It is based on many aspects like age, education, work experience and applicants are awarded points on all these criterias as this is totally considered a point based system.

Firstly, an online profile is to be created along with the required documents. On the basis of your profile’s information you will be scored according to the comprehensive ranking system (CRS) and those who are scored with the highest crs receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence. The applicants get ranked against other candidates in the draw pool. If your application gets selected you get a letter of nomination from the province. The reason that this system appeals to the candidates the most is that it allows you to cut your way short on your way to Canada within 4-6 months.
