Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have announced new instructions for expired Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) holders on how to renew their documents for travelling to Canada. Pandemic-related travel restrictions urged many COPR holders to delay their travelling. During the waiting period, many COPR documents got expired. Even before the pandemic, Canada never accepted any expired documentations. As per the new rules from IRCC, the officer will contact the applicant by email. If you choose not to respond, your application will be closed. Many people have already been contacted by the government, if not, should you be contacted and might ask to do new medical and police clearance or update your documents.
