If you want to extend your stay in Canada as a visitor, you need a visitor record. No matter you have a visit visa, electronic travel authorization (ETA) or other document, you need to apply for that.
What is a VISITOR RECORD?
Visitor record is basically for people who either want to extend their stay in Canada as a visitor or change permit type from either study or work to a visitor record.
When to apply
It is important for you to apply for a visitor record at least 30 days before your current status expires.
The expiry date for your status is on: –
- The stamp in the passport (NOT to include the date on the visitor visa)
If stamp is not there on the passport, then expiry date is 6 months from the date of entry into Canada
- Study permit
- Work permit
- Visitor record (if you have already extended your stay)
