The Yukon Nominee Program 2026 (YNP) has officially announced its nomination allocation, priority categories, and intake periods—bringing fresh opportunities for skilled foreign workers and employers looking to address labour shortages in northern Canada.

With 282 nomination slots allocated for 2026, Yukon becomes the third Canadian jurisdiction—after British Columbia and Saskatchewan—to confirm its provincial nomination numbers for the year. While the allocation remains lower than pre-2025 levels, the program continues to focus strongly on candidates with established Yukon ties and in-demand skills.

Yukon Nominee Program 2026 Nomination Allocation

For 2026, Yukon has received 282 provincial nominations, matching the expanded quota it achieved in late 2025 after a federal increase. Although this number is still below the 430 nominations issued in 2024, it reflects cautious optimism as Canada raises its national PNP admissions target to 91,500 permanent residents in 2026.

Historically, higher federal targets often lead to additional nomination slots later in the year, meaning Yukon may still request an increase—just as it did previously.

Who Will Yukon Prioritize in 2026?

The Yukon Nominee Program continues to be an employer-driven immigration pathway, designed to support local labour market needs. In 2026, priority will be given to candidates who can demonstrate strong connections to Yukon or who work in critical shortage occupations.

Top Priority Groups for YNP 2026

The territory has confirmed preference for:

  • Regulated healthcare professionals

  • Individuals who have lived and worked in Yukon for at least one year

  • Graduates of Yukon University

  • French-speaking (Francophone) candidates

  • Applicants who received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025

Candidates who previously received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support will not need to submit a new Expression of Interest (EOI). Yukon authorities will contact them directly with next steps.

In addition, Yukon is placing increased emphasis on rural employers, aiming to distribute economic growth beyond Whitehorse and address workforce gaps in smaller communities.

Yukon Nominee Program 2026 Intake Periods

Since the YNP is employer-led, Yukon employers must submit an online EOI on behalf of the foreign worker they wish to nominate.

YNP 2026 Intake Dates

  • Intake Period 1: January 19 – January 30, 2026

  • Intake Period 2: July 6 – July 17, 2026

Employers whose applications align clearly with Yukon’s 2026 immigration priorities will receive higher scores. Additional points will also be awarded to employers who submitted EOIs in 2025 but were not selected.

Only the highest-ranking EOIs in each intake window will receive invitations to apply for nomination.

How YNP 2026 Compares to Previous Years

While Yukon nominated 312 individuals in 2025, its official allocation was lower—demonstrating the territory’s ongoing demand for skilled workers. The 34% reduction from 2024 levels reflects broader federal immigration recalibration rather than a decline in Yukon’s economic needs.

With Canada increasing its Provincial Nominee Program targets, Yukon may once again seek additional nomination spaces later in 2026.
